Droz's predictions for Extreme Rules
Well everyone, I did quite spectacular on the last pay-per-view. I was 7-2 and could have sworn that I picked Big Show and Miz, but 7-2 is a beautiful thing. Hopefully this week I will be able to improve on that. On that note, let's get right down to it:
World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton (Extreme Rules Match) -- Right off the bat these two are looking to destroy each other. Swagger used his Money in the Bank and was able to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and now I am sure that Orton is frothing at the bit to get the title back and once again be champion. I love the fact that Extreme Rules are in order and in Orton's eyes this makes it all the better. Although Orton is one sly individual, I think that Swagger is going to retain his championship and keep on running with it.
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Batista (Last Man Standing Match) -- These two men know each other inside and out. With the Last Man Standing Match this could come into play. Cena, being the champion, has all the incentive in the world to keep his rival off-center as long as he possibly can. This match could go for quite some time, with both having huge hearts and the will to go through anything and everything to win this championship. I like Batista in this match, but I think that Cena is going to retain his title, but not without suffering some serious pain and damage.
Edge vs. Chris Jericho (Steel Cage Match) -- These heated rivals are going to be seriously put to the test when they step in that Steel Cage on Sunday. While both have been through this type of match before, I feel that Jericho has the slight edge. Although Edge has been back for a short period of time he has done quite a bit in that period. I am not sure that Edge is totally ready for this type of match. Let me get to the point, I feel that Jericho is going to outwork Edge and finish him off to gain the victory.
Triple H vs. Sheamus (Street Fight) -- This is one of the matches that I am really looking forward to. When Seamus and Triple H lock up and take this battle all over the arena, it is only a matter of time before we get to see the fair skinned Sheamus welted and wounded from Triple H's barrage. This will definitely be a knock -own drag-out fight, and though Triple H is by far the seasoned veteran, Sheamus has what it takes to put him down in this type of match.
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk (If Punk loses, his head gets shaved) -- Well I have to say that Punk has a lot more to lose in this match then just his pride. That, of course, is his hair. Rey is one of my all-time favorites, and he and Punk are surely going to put on a spectacular show. What I am hoping to see is Rey using his awesome aerial attack to put Punk away. I do worry about Punk's Straight Edge Society getting involved, but even they won't be able to keep their leader from joining them with a bald head.
JTG vs. Shad Gaspard (Strap Match) -- It seems only fitting that these two former tag team partners would be hooked together in a Strap Match. There is no running, there is no hiding you are hooked together and you go at it. I know from personal experience (not in a match) being hit with a strap is no day at the park. These two will be at each other's throats, but when it is finally over the quicker JTG will not be able to overcome the raw power that Shad possesses. By needing to hit four consecutive corners I feel that Shad with the greater size and strength will be able to accomplish this and walk away the victor.
Well, I hope that all of you enjoy the pay-per-view, I am looking forward to checking it out. The last pay-per- view article, I was talking about the striper fishing in my river and it is sad to say that I have yet to reel one in this season. I haven't been able to get out there in the last few weeks, but I am hoping to get out there when the weather clears up. On a side note, I am actually looking for a sister for Oreo, my Great Dane and am checking around for Dane breeders in my area. If anyone knows of any good breeders in South Jersey, please feel free to send me an email at droz2cents@aol.com. Oreo is doing just fine but it has been almost a year since I had to put her sister Navarra down and I think we could both use a little pep from a new pup.
Well, folks, I would like to send out a happy birthday wish to my friend Abby whose birthday is on Saturday the 24th and another birthday wish to one of my aides, Jeff … I hope they both have great birthdays. Once again if you could also keep our troops and their families in your thoughts and prayers it would be greatly appreciated.
Until Next Time … Peace
Droz
