WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

No matter the stakes, the Elimination Chamber always takes a piece of the competitors who dare step inside it. For the first time, when the infamous structure returns to WWE Network on May 31, six Superstars and six tag teams will go to war for the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships in two Chamber Matches.

But the action will be just as intense outside the dreaded Chamber with former teammates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose brawling for Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Kevin Owens looking to make a statement against John Cena and much more.

Check out these predictions by WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel, ECW Original Joey Styles and WWE.com editors, then let us know who you think will stand tall at the end of the night in the comments below.

WWE Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel: I am looking for the upset special in this contest. Based on the order of entry from the Chamber pods, if The New Day enter early in the match, they could be out in no time flat, thus losing their WWE Tag Team Championships. That is a very real possibility! Going on the premise of “right place, right time,” I’m picking a long shot: Los Matadores! WINNER: Los Matadores

@JoeyStyles: Really, if an Elimination Chamber Match with six men is almost impossible to predict, then an Elimination Chamber Match with six teams is definitely impossible to predict. With no idea which two teams will start and when the other four teams will enter, I cannot predict a winner. I’ll just venture a guess that The New Day retains the tandem titles and escape the Chamber to clap another day. WINNER: The New Day

Scott Taylor: The New Day have shown a knack for being able to escape trouble. With that in mind, I foresee the positive trio finding a way to leave WWE’s playground of pain with their titles in tow. WINNER: The New Day

Mike Burdick: Look for The Ascension to triumph in the first-ever Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships. While every tag team brings a unique strength to the contest, Konnor and Viktor are tailor-made for the infamous, twisted metal structure. WINNER: The Ascension

Anthony Benigno: Outnumbered as they are, The New Day’s still the heavy favorites, as the rest of the crew is looking to beat each other up as much as the champions. Though ultimately, New Day … retains! Not a great chant, but you get the idea. WINNER: The New Day

The New Day: 3, Los Matadores: 1, The Ascension: 1

Who will leave with the Tag Team Championships?

Neville vs. Bo Dallas

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel:  Short and sweet: Bo Dallas is going to rue the day that he stuck his nose into Neville’s business. Bo’s inspiration has made its mark on Neville — a mark of inspiration to get the Red Arrow pointed in Bo’s direction for the win! WINNER: Neville

@JoeyStyles:  I Bo-lieve that Neville, the sensation who defeated Bo Dallas for the NXT Championship, will defeat the motivate-me-to-change-the channel-speaker again. End of prediction. WINNER: Neville

Scott Taylor:  They say believing in yourself is half the battle. If that’s the case, Bo Dallas should have no problem defeating Neville. All you have to do is Bo-lieve! WINNER: Bo Dallas

Mike Burdick:  Neville is going to reign supreme over Bo Dallas at WWE Elimination Chamber. You can “Bo-lieve” all you want the other way, but the high-flying style of The Man That Gravity Forgot will still rise above. WINNER: Neville

Anthony Benigno:  Sporting a year’s resentment over losing the NXT Championship to old NXT foil Neville and having exploited the highflier’s tweaked-up leg over the last couple of weeks, Bo Dallas has put himself in the position for the statement win he sorely needs. No more scheming required. WINNER: Bo Dallas

Neville: 3, Bo Dallas: 2

Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber Match

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel: I look forward to this contest. The luck of the entry into the Chamber could go a long way to determining one’s fate in the match. Stamina and endurance will play a big part as well. It’s time for Ryback to emerge out of this talented pack of competitors and garner his first major championship this Sunday. WINNER: Ryback

@JoeyStyles: Elimination Chamber Matches are almost impossible to predict, but I will use the happenings of the final Raw before Elimination Chamber to do my best. I am immediately ruling out R-Truth because he lost to Rusev in short order on Raw. Despite injured ribs, Ryback pinned five-time Intercontinental Champion King Barrett. It’s true that Sheamus defeated Ziggler but that was because of Rusev. With Rusev furiously fueled by jealously, I’m predicting The Bulgarian Brute to leave the Elimination Chamber with the championship. WINNER: Rusev

Scott Taylor: King Barrett has been pining for the Intercontinental Title for months. His Bull Hammer Elbow is the perfect finisher to eliminate his opponents in quick fashion en route to the coveted Intercontinental Championship. WINNER: King Barrett

Mike Burdick: Dolph Ziggler will emerge victorious from the first-ever Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber Match. He has proven time and time again that he has the heart to endure every other competitor in the career-altering contest and the ability to steal the show. WINNER: Dolph Ziggler

Anthony Benigno: Dolph Ziggler’s got a solid opportunity for his fourth go-round as Intercontinental Champion within the past year, but bruisers Sheamus and Ryback will outmuscle him into the final two. From there, my money’s on The Big Guy to notch his first title in WWE. It’s about freakin’ time, too. WINNER: Ryback

Ryback: 2, Rusev: 1, King Barrett: 1, Dolph Ziggler: 1

Who will prevail inside the Chamber?

Divas Champion Nikki Bella vs. Paige vs. Naomi

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel: Interesting set of circumstances here. Naomi’s belief in her abilities has made her more of a prominent figure, while Paige continues to win the plaudits of the WWE audience. Plus they’re both hungry to sport some gold around their waist. I do, however, give credit to Nikki Bella for withstanding challenge after challenge, and sometimes making it look easy in the process. In what I expect to be a hotly contested match, I look for Nikki to eke out the win and retain her championship. WINNER: Nikki Bella

@JoeyStyles: Time is up for Nikki Bella. The South Pacific powerhouse Tamina is now in Naomi’s corner to neutralize Brie, and Paige saw how well those women work together on Raw. Also considering the fact that the champion doesn’t need to be pinned or submitted to lose the title, I predict that Nikki’s reign of terror ends this Sunday. The question is, will Paige once again net the butterfly-emblazoned title or will Naomi win her first? Solely because of Tamina’s presence and the fact that Triple Threat Matches have no disqualifications or count-outs, I’m picking the former Funkadactyl to finally win what she should have been competing for years ago instead of being a backup dancer for a dancing dinosaur. WINNER: Naomi

Scott Taylor: Nikki Bella, Paige and Naomi are involved in this Triple Threat Match, but make no mistake — this is a five Diva affair. Look for Brie Bella and Tamina to play a role in what is sure to be a heated contest. With the intimidating Tamina in her corner, Naomi may be the most dangerous Diva in WWE today. WINNER: Naomi

Mike Burdick: Naomi will triumph in the Triple Threat Match for the Divas Title. Not only does she have Tamina in her corner, but her recent aggression and hunger to reach the top also gives her all the edge she needs. WINNER: Naomi

Anthony Benigno: Strategy is tough to determine here, so the win will go to the woman who’s ready to exploit Triple Threat rules in the most underhanded manner. Right now, that’s Naomi. Her time as a bridesmaid will come to an end. WINNER: Naomi

Naomi: 4, Nikki Bella: 1

Divas Triple Threat Match preview

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel: Kevin Owens set his sights on one of WWE’s top guns, leaving John Cena not one, but two “calling cards.” Owens will take the measure of Cena this Sunday in their “Champion vs. Champion” Match. Why? Because the NXT Champion believes in himself, and he will back it up in spades in the ring! WINNER: Kevin Owens

@JoeyStyles: Kudos to Kevin Owens! Not only did 15-year veteran of the indies answer Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge, but the NXT Champion also told the world that the esteemed United States Title, which has been held by 22 WWE Hall of Famers, was beneath him! To literally add injury to insult, the Montreal mauler used his Pop-up Powerbomb to splatter Cena on the canvas before stepping on the star-spangled championship. With neither the United States nor NXT Championships at stake, I expect Owens to be concerned with making a statement, not winning the match. I predict Owens will forego the winner’s earnings by intentionally getting himself disqualified and repeatedly powerbombing Cena on the corner of the ring the same way he did to his former best friend, Sami Zayn. Kevin Owens doesn’t want to be United States Champion. Kevin Owens wants to finally be famous. WINNER: John Cena

Scott Taylor: There is no questioning the fact that Kevin Owens is a force to be reckoned with. However, the dangerous powerhouse isn’t the first person to challenge the Cenation leader, and he won’t be the last. Owens has a bright future, but it’s still Cena’s time. WINNER: John Cena

Mike Burdick: United States Champion John Cena will win in his Champion vs. Champion Match this Sunday, but not as he would probably like. The showdown will end in a disqualification because the ruthless NXT champion Kevin Owens will be unable to contain his fury toward the leader of the Cenation. WINNER: John Cena

Anthony Benigno: Kevin Owens wins by attacking John Cena until the ref stops the match in a TKO decision that mirrors his victory over Sami Zayn at TakeOver: Rival. And if the ref hands the match to Cena by disqualification, it doesn’t matter, as the beating will continue until there’s nothing left to pound. In other words, Owens still wins. WINNER: Kevin Owens

John Cena: 3, Kevin Owens: 2

Preview the Champion vs. Champion Match

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions

@HowardFinkel: I’ve dubbed Dean Ambrose “Mr. Perpetual Motion.” He never stops in the ring. His “loose cannon” approach is unparalleled, and I feel strongly that despite some potential “Authority adversity,” he will conquer Seth Rollins and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. WINNER: Dean Ambrose

@JoeyStyles: Dean Ambrose pinned his former Shield partner Seth Rollins in a tag team match on Raw. However, that does not make it a foregone conclusion that the same will happen in singles competition. The Authority will always do what they (not us) feel is best for business. If Stephanie McMahon and Triple H feel Rollins as WWE World Heavyweight Champion is best, then Rollins will stay champion. I expect interference from Kane and J&J Security to allow Rollins to steal a win from Ambrose. WINNER: Seth Rollins

Scott Taylor: There’s no way The Authority will let Dean Ambrose become the new “Face of WWE.” Seth Rollins will certainly have a backup plan ready to go to hold onto the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. WINNER: Seth Rollins

Mike Burdick: Ladies and gentlemen, Dean Ambrose is about to capture his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The Lunatic Fringe will utilize the help of Roman Reigns to overcome any Authority interference, and the “Age of Ambrose” will begin. WINNER: Dean Ambrose

Anthony Benigno: Dean Ambrose has “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s mean streak and Mick Foley’s man-of-the-people grittiness. But this situation is a lot more reminiscent of Foley’s title matches, which were earned by force of will, yet typically ended with the entire machine uniting to stomp out The Hardcore Legend. WINNER: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins: 3, Dean Ambrose: 2
