Are they ready?

ECW representative Paul Heyman gave WWE.com his word: when DX comes to ECW on Sci Fi for their Extreme Rules Handicap Match with ECW World Champion Big Show, they will not run into any obstructions.

“You have my word as a man of honor that neither Paul Heyman, my private security, Hardcore Holly or any other member of the ECW locker room will interfere in this match on behalf of Big Show. Trust me,” assured Heyman. “Have I ever gone back on my word before?” he asked slyly.

Heyman’s track record of trustworthiness rivals a politician’s, and with the match being under Extreme Rules, anything and everything goes. Still, he insists that Big Show doesn’t need his help to emerge victorious against the two guests from RAW.

“This is something personal to Big Show. He is determined to eclipse the legend of DX,” said Heyman. “Big Show’s been unstoppable [since winning the ECW World Title from Rob Van Dam]. Undertaker, Kane, Ric Flair, Batista and Sabu couldn’t stop Big Show, and neither can DX. When the question gets asked, “Are you ready?” The answer from the Big Show is yes; for DX, the answer to their own question is something I doubt they can take into their hearts and truly accept; the answer is no.”

Heyman isn’t trying to play down the gravity of the match. He understands what’s at stake when Triple H and Shawn Michaels step into an ECW arena for the first time in their illustrious career.

“When has one man in the history of this industry taken on two men with the credentials boasted by Triple H and Shawn Michaels?” a genuine Heyman asked.  “[This will be] the most significant Handicap Match the industry has ever seen. Triple H is a 10-time World Champion, HBK is a multi-time World Champion; both are instant Hall of Famers upon eligibility and yet, if you combine their talents, greatness, reputations and their Legends and they still don’t measure up to Big Show.”

On RAW, Big Show had his own message for DX.

“HBK and the King of Kings… will end up being handicapped when I’m finished with them [after the match on ECW on Sci Fi]. And what’s left of them, you can wheel, carry, cart, fly or drag to Unforgiven at Hell in a Cell,” growled the 500-pound Extremist.

Can DX use their numbers to defeat the only man in sports-entertainment history to ever hold the WCW, WWE and ECW World Championship? Will Paul Heyman keep his word and let Big Show battle it out with Triple H and Shawn Michaels without getting involved? Tune into ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT on the Sci Fi Channel.
