Hometown: Chongqing, China
The first Chinese woman to ever compete in a WWE ring, Xia Li made her in-ring debut at last year’s Mae Young Classic. A lifelong combat-sport athlete, Li was a top-flight fighter in the Chinese martial art of wushu before joining the WWE Performance Center in January 2017.
Li leveraged her unique skill set in her high-pressure debut the inaugural Classic, unleashing a torrent of strikes against Mercedes Martinez that belied Li’s relatively limited sports-entertainment experience. Equipped with lightning-fast kicks and an unpredictable offense, Li hopes to make the WWE Universe members in China proud with a winning performance in this year’s tournament.
