Style: Strong style
NXT UK Superstar Toni Storm is coming to rock the Mae Young Classic. A nine-year veteran of sports-entertainment, Storm has a style and swagger clearly inspired by the ’80s Los Angeles metal scene, but her ring game is unmistakably ’90s Japan. Her mix of Japanese strong style, British technical grappling and the odd bit of high-flying has taken her to championship heights in promotions across the world.
After making the semifinals of the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017, Storm returned to WWE and gave NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler a run for her money inside London’s Royal Albert Hall. Even in defeat, Storm showed her skills have only sharpened. As one of the faces of NXT UK’s nascent Women’s division, Storm looks to prove she’s the Superstar to beat, and nothing would support that claim more than taking home the trophy in this year’s Mae Young Classic.
