Damone speaks on Diva Search and nominations

Throughout Layla El’s journey to becoming the Sexiest Woman on Television, Damone was with WWE fans all the way. The band provided the Diva Search with their award-nominated song “Out Here All Night.”

Damone aimed to submit their best song when the opportunity presented itself for the band to become a part of WWE. Since, they have been nominated for three Boston Music Awards, including Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year (lead singer and guitarist Noelle) and Rock Band of the Year.

“It’s great,” drummer Dustin Hengst said, adding, “I’ve been a fan of wrestling for years. I lived in Houston and I used to watch Houston Wrestling back when Ted DiBiase and ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan were there.”

Hengst encourages WWE fans to vote for the Boston Music Awards at www.nemoboston.com. Damone has also received a FUSE Chainsaw Award nomination for music videos based on movies. Their video for “Our Here All Night” plays off of Sam Raimi’s horror classic, The Evil Dead.

Hengst still follows the sports-entertainment world closely and mentioned Edge as a recent favorite Superstar.

“I’d love to work on material exclusively for WWE,” Hengst said when asked if the band would work with WWE again. “I hope [WWE fans] dig the song and hopefully our paths will cross again.”
