Lilian Garcia to sing the national anthem at New York Jets game
Anyone looking for SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia on Sunday need only make their way to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where she’ll take her spot at the 50-yard line to sing the national anthem moments before the New York Jets’ 1 p.m. kickoff against the Denver Broncos.
“The New York Jets have been so good to me over the years. It’s really cool to have been received so well [by the fans],” said Lilian, who has sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” for Gang Green on nine previous occasions.
“I can’t wait,” continued the veteran ring announcer, who recently wrapped a residency in Las Vegas with her rock band, The Fuse. “Being in the middle of that stadium and looking around and seeing everyone with their hands over their hearts, you can hear a pin drop. … It just sends chills up my spine. I’m really looking forward to doing again, and 10 times! This is an incredible honor to be asked that many times.”
