He’s an eight-time WWE Champion and has been heralded for more than two decades as “The People’s Champ,” now The Rock is setting foot into a new arena — The DC Comics Cinematic Universe. Confirming the long-standing tease and rumor, The Rock has announced that he is set to play DC anti-hero and Shazam’s arch nemesis Black Adam in the upcoming film featuring the iconic characters.

While it’s uncertain whether this iteration of Black Adam will be joining Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, The Rock is no doubt ready to lay the smackdown on DC’s legendary pantheon of costumed heroes.

With box-office hits such as “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and the “Fast and Furious” franchise, The Brahma Bull is sure to deliver a Rock Bottom to any competition when the Shazam movie hits theaters.
