LOS ANGELES -- More than 500 summer school students attended an assembly at Santee High School in Los Angeles on Aug. 12 to listen to The Miz and Eve speak to how they successfully overcame obstacles to become successes in life and WWE. As part of the program, the students were shown clips from the WWE Studios film, Legendary, to illustrate that anything is possible if you have perseverance and keep your focus on your personal goals. The Miz related how he overcame the challenges he faced in becoming a WWE Superstar. The students related well to Eve, and applauded loudly after she spoke to how she worked hard to receive a full scholarship to achieve her dream to study Engineering at the University of Southern California.

After the assembly, Miz and Eve met with 50 students as a reward for exceptional performance in summer school.

The Get R.E.A.L. program was organized with the assistance of the Los Angeles Mayor's Office and The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, a unique collaboration between the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District to turnaround L.A.'s lowest performing schools. It was introduced by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
