Punk explains why bad is good in "Necessary Evil"

CM Punk has never been shy about his love for comic books. A characteristically outspoken fan of the medium, The Second City Saint is offering his insight on the subject – specifically, on world-infamous evildoers like the Joker, Lex Luthor and Darkseid – for the Warner Home Video documentary “Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.”

Available now on Blu-ray and DVD and narrated by legendary actor Christopher Lee, “Necessary Evil” explores the nature of evil, studies the true motivations of the DC Universe’s most malevolent villains and attempts to answer why everyone loves a good bad guy.

With an analysis that pulls no punches, Punk joins a number of famed creators responsible for bringing DC Comics’ iconic offenders to life, both in print and on the big screen, including directors Richard Donner (“Superman: The Movie,” “Lethal Weapon,” “The Goonies”), Zack Snyder (“Man of Steel,” “300”) and Guillermo del Toro (“Pacific Rim,” “Hellboy”); casting director Andrea Romano (“Beware the Batman,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”); and famed comic-book storytellers Geoff Johns, Scott Snyder and Jim Lee, among others.
