CM Punk honors veterans
Prior to last Saturday's event in Cincinnati, new ECW Champion CM Punk took time to stop by Cincinnati VA's Ft. Thomas Nursing Home to honor veterans at a special picnic. The event was set up through The Thank You Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring veterans and active-duty service members. CM Punk attended the picnic to honor the veterans and sign autographs. Punk was joined by former Cincinnati Bengals star Jim Breech, as well as Miss America, Lauren Nelson.
"I am extremely grateful to WWE for helping us say thank you to area veterans," said Rick Smith, The Thank You Foundation's Secretary/Treasurer. "You hear about WWE being supportive of our armed forces, but to have someone of CM Punk's stature agree to take time out of his busy schedule to attend a local VA picnic means that the organization's dedication to our brave men and women is very real."
