Carl Edwards flips for John Cena in Victory Lane

After NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader Carl Edwards won Sunday's UAW-Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the driver mentioned his good friend John Cena while celebrating in Victory Lane.

"Maybe I'll let John Cena use it in a WrestleMania or something," Edwards said, looking at his trophy, a belt that looked similar to a WWE Championship.

When the Raw Superstar heard the driver of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford mentioned him in Victory Lane, Cena was excited. The two became fast friends last year when Edwards was Cena's racing mentor while filming the ABC reality show, Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race. Edwards, who is known for his signature celebratory backflip, also stars with Cena in Gillette's latest Young Guns advertising campaign.

"I called him and thanked him," Cena told WWE.com. "He's a great individual for even thinking of me, I could only imagine the feeling of winning a NASCAR race, especially being in a car for 400 miles and amidst all that, to come out of the car, enjoy the thrill of victory, give WrestleMania, WWE, and myself a shout out in the same breath is fantastic. He's truly a class act."
