Circle of Champions: Rey Mysterio meets Jesus and Reed

WICHITA, Kan. -- When Rey Mysterio met Jesus Lepe and Reed Brown, he had one question for the courageous boys: Why me?

The boys' answer was simple: Because Rey is their favorite wrestler. Genuinely surprised and flattered, Rey signed autographs and posed for pictures with Jesus, 11, of Independence, Ore., and Reed, 8, of Lake Isabella, Calif., -- a meeting made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the WWE Community Relations department.

"With the variety of Superstars from The Undertaker to John Cena to Jeff Hardy -- they picked Rey Mysterio," the high-flying SmackDown Superstar explained. "It definitely makes you feel special knowing that kids pick you as their favorite. Me having a son of my own, I'm not his favorite. Jeff Hardy is his favorite."

Rey has granted numerous wishes throughout his time with WWE. And as a father, he realizes the importance of giving back to the community -- especially when it comes to children.

In between answering questions about the origin of the 619 and his mask, Rey gave Jesus and Reed WWE merchandise and provided ear-to-ear smiles on the boys that will last for a long time.

"It's the best feeling in the world, meeting kids like this. Seeing the smiles on their faces when you first meet them, that one moment is an amazing feeling," Rey said.

"I grew up watching sports and I had my favorites, but I never knew what it would feel like to meet somebody. I would imagine it is a really special feeling for the kids, too."
