Biggest Party of the Summer continues to burn
WILDWOOD, N.J. -- When WWE ring announcer Howard Finkel arrived in Wildwood for Friday night's stop on WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer tour, he was stunned to see our fans lined up down the boardwalk in the unusually chilly temperatures, eagerly waiting to take their seats in the Wildwood Convention Center to see the Raw Superstars perform.
"[The line] stretched for easily a half-mile," Finkel recalled. "The crowd was just absolutely ready for WWE action."
With SummerSlam, WWE's premiere summer spectacular, just 15 days away, WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer tour is gaining momentum. Friday's electric crowd at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood numbered more than 7,000 -- a new attendance record for the building.
"The crowds were off the charts," Finkel said. "There were lots of kids in attendance. It was a great atmosphere all around."
With 15 more events remaining in the tour before WWE arrives at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J. for SummerSlam, look for things to heat up between Raw, SmackDown and ECW's Superstars as they aim to make history on summer's biggest sports-entertainment stage.
"There's nothing like seeing WWE action live. It's sports-entertainment second to none," Finkel attested.
