On July 2, SmackDown Superstar Matt Hardy underwent successful surgery at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C., to repair what was a potentially fatal injury. Rather than conducting a full interview with WWE.com, Hardy instead turned to one of the activities that helps him unwind while he is both traveling and relaxing at home, blogging on WWEUniverse.com.

Matt Hardy did say the following last night before ending our terse conversation to write his blog.

"Basically, my intestines exploded through my abdominal wall in two places. I was told to have surgery or face major health problems that could kill me. My health is all I'm thinking about right now."
