Strike one!

The first time Rey Mysterio threw out the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game, it didn't quite go according to plan. "I threw out the first pitch at a San Diego Padres game last year, but the pitch was low and outside for a ball," admitted Rey. WWE.com was on site at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on Tuesday to speak with Rey about his second pitch.

Still disappointed by his first effort, Rey made sure he was prepared when he showed up for the Reds afternoon game with the St. Louis Cardinals. "I grabbed the ball, rubbed it on the World Heavyweight Championship for good luck, got some pointers from some Reds pitchers, and wore my Eddie Guerrero t-shirt. I think the combination of all those factors, helped me to throw the perfect pitch," explained Rey. And throw the perfect pitch is exactly what Rey did, as he sent a fastball right over the heart of the plate for a strike, gaining approval from a certain Major League Superstar. "After the pitch I looked over towards the dugout and Albert Pujols gave me a big thumbs up."

Before Rey threw out his pitch, he took some time to mingle with the Cincinnati Reds players. He was surprised by how many of them were WWE fanatics. "I met a lot of the players, and I can't believe how many of them are WWE fans. It's great that Major League Baseball players support our product and keep up with our show, even with their busy schedules."

When it was all over, Rey remarked on how much fun he had at the ballpark. "When I got out on the field, the fans were awesome. I could tell their were a lot of SmackDown fans in the stands. I got to sign a lot of autographs and take a lot of pictures. It was a great feeling, a great atmosphere, and I had a wonderful time."
