Re-live Hulk Hogan's MSG debut

All summer long, WWE Presents MSG Classics has been providing WWE fans with a way to relive classic moments from the past. MSG Classics features two, one-hour episodes that showcase several matches from a past Madison Square Garden card. Each week seems to have more historic moments than the last, and this week is no different.

In the 8 p.m. episode, fans will be whisked away to Dec. 17, 1979, and be treated to the Madison Square Garden debut of the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Hulkamania wouldn't be running wild for another five years, but Hogan was introduced to the MSG fans in this rare match against Ted DiBiase. Not only was it Hogan's debut, but the match also marked DiBiase's last appearance at MSG for WWE in several years until he returned as the Million Dollar Man. Was the young Hogan able to overcome DiBiase in his debut?

Plus, in a very rare occurrence, the NWA Championship was defended in a WWE ring as Dusty Rhodes took on WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race. Rhodes and Race have had several classic clashes over the years, and this one was no different. How would the WWE fans take to the NWA wrestlers? Tune in and find out.

To top it all off, the WWE Championship was also on the line on this night. Bob Backlund was in the midst of a five-plus year reign as the Champion, but Bobby Duncam stood in his way. How would the WWE Champion fare against the rugged Texan?

The second episode of MSG Classics takes place just more than a month away from WrestleMania III. This card was billed as WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's final appearance at the Garden, as WrestleMania III was supposed to be his final match. The Hot Scot teamed up with Junkyard Dog and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to take on Adrian Adonis, Harley Race and Intercontinental Champion Randy "Macho Man" Savage. Bad blood ran rampant throughout this one, as Steamboat was slated to face Savage, JYD was set to battle Race and Piper would be going head to head with Adonis at WrestleMania. Each side wanted nothing more than to gain the momentum heading into the biggest event of the year. Could Piper and his team go out with a bang?

Plus, the World Tag Team Champions the Hart Foundation defended the gold against one of their arch nemeses, the Killer Bees. Could the Bees' high-flying arsenal and unparalleled quickness overcome the Foundation's sound fundamentals and ruthless style?

And Jake "The Snake" Roberts had to face one mountain of a man in King Kong Bundy. Roberts was severely overmatched in size and power, but with Damian in his corner, anything was possible. Could Roberts topple the Walking Condominium? Tune in and find out.

Tune in on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on the MSG network for two hours of unforgettable WWE action, as "WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics."
