People everywhere are searching for WWE
Over the past 12 months, World Wrestling Entertainment continued to be one of the most popular entities on the Internet. In fact, according to Lycos, WWE is ranked No. 7 on its annual list of most popular Internet search terms of 2005.
As No. 7, WWE came in ahead of such popular terms as Hurricane Katrina (No. 10), iPod (No. 16), Jessica Simpson (No. 21) and NFL (No. 23).
Lycos also released several Top 10 lists for 2005, including the Top 10 Sports Stars of 2005. Diva Candice Michelle and WWE Champion John Cena came in at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively on the list. The two RAW Superstars came in ahead of the likes of female racing-sensation Danica Patrick (No. 6) and Michael Jordan (No. 7).
The Lycos lists continue to prove that WWE and its Superstars grabbed the interest of people everywhere in 2005. And with January's Elimination Chamber at New Year's Revolution right around the corner, there seems to be no sign of letting up in 2006.
