Triple Threat announced for SNME

ECW.com and WWE.com have just received breaking news regarding the main event for the July 15th edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. ECW's Rob Van Dam will defend the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match against RAW's Rated-R Superstar, Edge, and John Cena.

There is now an extensive history between these three men. At One Night Stand, Rob Van Dam cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to take on WWE Champion John Cena. RVD won the match in somewhat controversial fashion after Edge interfered and speared John Cena, giving Van Dam a decided advantage.

At Vengeance, Rob Van Dam defended his Championship with a dramatic victory over Edge. After the match, RVD and Cena came face to face backstage. In an effort to establish himself as a fighting champion, Van Dam offered Cena a shot at the gold on Monday Night RAW.

The RAW match was hard fought, but towards the end, it looked like Cena was in a position to win when he locked RVD in the STFU. Unfortunately for Cena, Edge ran down to the ring and interfered, forcing the referee to rule the bout a no-contest. After the bell, Edge took out Cena with a Edgecution and speared RVD.

With the now intense history between the three, what will happen when they all get together in one ring, fighting for the richest prize in all of sport-entertainment?
