Ron Simmons Inducted
WWE fans probably remember Ron Simmons most for his no-nonsense, hard-hitting, brawling ways inside the squared circle as Farooq. But Simmons' time on the grid-iron is also well-documented. Simmons was a stand-out defensive tackle at Florida State, and was acknowledged for his accomplishments Tuesday when he was inducted into the The Regions Bank Orange Bowl Hall of Fame.
Simmons was inducted Monday, the day before this year's FedEx Orange Bowl, at the AvMed Orange Bowl Coaches Luncheon. Simmons' accolades in sports-entertainment include three reigns as World Tag Team Champion with APA partner Bradshaw. Simmons was also the first-ever World Champion when he defeated Vader for the WCW Championship.
