"WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics" on Wednesday, July 23
After a brief hiatus, WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics returns this Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET with two action-packed back-to-back episodes. Join "Mean" Gene Okerlund as he brings us back to two great events which emanated from the World's Most Famous Arena in the 1980s.
The first episode of Classics, starting at 8 p.m. ET, brings us back to an event that took place Aug. 22, 1987. Our fans will be able to witness first-hand memorable matches, with Tito Santana going one-on-one against Outlaw Ron Bass and Honky Tonk Man putting his Intercontinental Title on the line against Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in a Lumberjack Match. The first hour will be topped-off with an action-filled tag team match featuring George "The Animal" Steele teaming with the Junkyard Dog to take on Demolition.
Right after the first episode ends, another thrilling hour of WWE action starts at 9 p.m. ET, this time, bringing us to an event that emanated from MSG on Jan. 21, 1980. You will be able to witness Hulk Hogan battle against Dominic DeNucci, the WWE Tag Team Titles hanging in the balance when Tito Santana & Ivan Putski go up against The Wild Samoans and the main event of this Classic evening -- WWE Champion Bob Backlund defending the gold against Ken Patera.
Remember to join "Mean" Gene this Wednesday and every Wednesday throughout the summer on the MSG Network and enjoy some of the greatest bouts to ever take place inside the squared circle as WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics.
