WWE is a world of superheroes, and that is especially true in ECW. Mike Posey has the difficult task of keeping order in the Land of the Extreme. His secret? Becoming a part of it all.
“I fit right in,” Posey said. “I’m just a big kid.”
A collector of Transformers, G.I. Joe and comic books, Posey may be a fan of superheroes, but he is the governor of these giants when he steps into the ring.
“That’s the part of wrestling I’ve always liked, the adventure and the story of it,” he said.
Now Posey is one of the veterans, officiating in perhaps the most dangerous of WWE’s brands. A victim of a Balls Mahoney chair shot early in his ECW tenure, he knew he wasn’t in store for an easy job.
ECW has no doubt made Posey an even stronger man. It has also allowed him to travel all over the world. But no matter what, Alabama is the place for this homegrown big kid.
“The more places I go, the more reasons I have that I want to stay in Birmingham.”
