WrestleMania VIII - Undertaker vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
In the fall of 1991, Undertaker and Jake Roberts formed a tenuous alliance based on their simultaneous rivalry with Ultimate Warrior. Together, they also targeted the then-retired Randy “Macho Man” Savage, crashing him & Elizabeth’s wedding reception after SummerSlam that year.
However, things began to turn sour later in the year, and Undertaker would eventually save Elizabeth from a chair-wielding Roberts. The Deadman made it clear that he was no longer on Roberts’ side after that, setting up a grudge match between the two at WrestleMania.
Early in the match, Roberts tried to exchange fists with the Deadman, but he was unable to faze him. Roberts would eventually get Undertaker down to the arena floor, where he laid a stiff beating on the Deadman.
Jake would eventually hit his signature DDT, but Undertaker shook it off, doing his trademark sit-up immediately after Roberts hit the move. Roberts hit the DDT again, but instead of pinning Undertaker, he chose to go after Paul Bearer. The Deadman sat up again, and after chasing Roberts outside the ring, nailed “The Snake” with a Tombstone Piledriver on the floor. The Deadman then rolled Roberts back into the ring for the easy three count, making it 2-for-2 at WrestleMania.
