August 19, 1996 RAW - Shawn Michaels vs. Yokozuna
On the August 19, 1996 edition of RAW, WWE Champion Shawn Michaels literally faced his biggest challenge when he took on 700-pound former WWE Champion Yokozuna.
Early in the bout, the massive Yokozuna used his size to bully HBK, but the resilient champion fought back, eventually knocking his gargantuan opponent off his feet. With the crowd firmly behind him, HBK continued to attack Yokozuna, but the big man was able to hit a headbutt to take down the champion as RAW went to a commercial break.
When the show returned, HBK was fighting back, but was distracted by Jim Cornette attacking Jose Lothario outside the ring. Michaels stopped to chase Cornette, but got caught by Yokozuna coming back in the ring, and the massive challenger rocked him with a belly-to-belly suplex.
Yokozuna would then miss a big splash attempt, and HBK was able to knock him back down with a flying forearm. Shawn followed that up with a flying splash and went for Sweet Chin Music, but Yokozuna caught his foot and hoisted him up for a massive Samoan Drop instead. Yokozuna tried a legdrop, but Shawn was able to move away; he then quickly nailed the 700-pounder with Sweet Chin Music, and that was enough to keep him down for the pinfall.
