At 7-feet tall and more than 300 pounds, Kane has been tormenting WWE since his debut in October 1997, when he ripped the cage door off during the first-ever Hell in a Cell Match between Shawn Michaels and his half-brother The Undertaker.
Consumed with a desire to bring absolute anarchy to the lives of his fellow Superstars, The Devil's Favorite Demon has unleashed a continuous path of destruction throughout his career. Some of his most demented actions have included setting WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross on fire, hitting then-WWE CEO Linda McMahon with a Tombstone, kidnapping various victims and forcing WWE Diva Lita to marry him.
For years, the sadistic Superstar wore a mask and specific attire designed to conceal hideous burns from a fire, supposedly started by The Phenom. But, that all changed on one of the most emotional nights of Kane's career when – after losing a Mask vs. Championship Match on Monday Night Raw – the tortured soul was forced to unmask and reveal his face to the world.
His nonstop journey of darkness has been marked by absolute wars in the ring against some of the biggest names in the squared circle including The Undertaker, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Matt Hardy, Shane McMahon and even a mysterious masked mirror image of himself. The horrific grappler has also battled in some of the most unique encounters of all time, including First Blood, Inferno, Buried Alive, Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber, Steel Cage, Stretcher and even Till Death Do Us Part Matches.
The Phenom is the ally-turned-adversary (and often back again) that Kane continuously comes to crosses with. The Big Red Monster made his WWE debut by costing his half-brother the first-ever Hell in a Cell Match. While their relationship is always turbulent, together they are nearly unstoppable.
Kane's highly decorated career is highlighted by reigns as both WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion. He has shown near-unprecedented versatility in the tag team ranks as well, finding championship success with a barrage of partners. He's twice won the tag team titles with The Deadman. The famed Brothers of Destruction simultaneously held the World Tag Team Championship and WCW Tag Team Championship during the Alliance Invasion.
In July 2011, The Big Red Monster seemed to have finally met his match when he was attacked by the World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry, who hobbled Kane by trapping his leg in a steel chair. Out of action for several months, The Devil's Favorite Demon returned to WWE in a steel mask concealing an even more horrific visage. Kane attacked John Cena, who was in the ring at the time, before removing the steel shroud to reveal a new skin-like leather mask modeled in the shape of a human face. Once again under a crimson mask, Kane returned to his most evil roots in WWE.
Wherever Kane goes, all-out annihilation travels swiftly by his side. And until the day that he is finally at peace, his "Big Red" shadow will undoubtedly continue to strike fear in the hearts of anyone who dares steps in the ring with him.
