This week's MEP is the Southpaw from South Beach, Carlito. Notwithstanding the ringside actions of Randy Orton, the fact remains that Carlito beat the seemingly unbeatable WWE Champion John Cena.
Heading into SummerSlam, Orton is the No. 1 contender. If Cena manages to retain the title against Orton, Carlito can make a great case that he is next in line to face Cena. That is, if the former Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion and second-generation Superstar can steer clear of Cena between now and SummerSlam.
A loss to Cena before the Biggest Party of the Summer would nullifiy Carlito's argument so the self-proclaimed king of cool cannot get in the ring with Cena. However, that may be a tall order considering the mouth full of half-masticated fruit that was launched into The Champ's face this past Monday on Raw.
