WWE NXT results - Dec. 25, 2014: Charlotte & Sasha Banks tangle in TakeOver title rematch

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks - NXT Women's Championship Match: WWE NXT, Dec. 25, 2014

Sasha Banks gets her rematch for the NXT Women's Championship with Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair looking on.

ORLANDO, Fla. — While most of the Christmas night edition of NXT was dedicated toward looking back at the amazing year NXT had, from its debut on WWE Network to the acclaimed TakeOver: R Evolution that capped off 2014, Charlotte and Sasha Banks both tried to use the main event to set the tone for the year ahead, as they clashed for the NXT Women's Title.

NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte def. Sasha Banks
Joined by her father, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, Charlotte was extra confident as she approached the ring for her latest title defense. There was no love lost between her and Sasha, as the two Divas wasted no time, exchanging blows from the opening bell. Charlotte took charge of the bout and worked over The Boss’ leg, wrenching it around the ring post until Sasha took advantage and pulled the champion face-first into the steel post.

With her new pal Becky Lynch watching at ringside, Sasha gained control and even took a few seconds to mock “The Nature Boy” as she attacked Charlotte. The champion was able to power out of Sasha’s onslaught, breaking out of a submission with a jawbreaker. Sasha’s mockery of her family lit a fire under Charlotte. The aggressive Charlotte fought back, surviving everything Sasha threw her way, eventually locking in a bridging Figure-Four Leglock to win the bout by submission. Charlotte capped off her Christmas by celebrating in the ring with the NXT Women’s Championship and her legendary father.
