Undisputed Championship
Before Chris Jericho defended his Undisputed Championship against Triple H at WrestleMania X8, he tried to increase his chances of retaining by aligning himself with Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie was no longer on good terms with her husband Triple H. In fact, she would do anything to keep him from winning the Undisputed Championship.
Jericho also had to like his chances because Triple H was hobbling into WrestleMania with a bum quadriceps. After returning from a serious quad injury, Jericho reinjured Triple H’s leg in the weeks heading into their main event match. But The Game persevered and showed why he is indeed the Cerebral Assassin. Triple H was able to hit the patented Pedigree for the win and the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania XIX. Triple H's reign on top only lasted a little over a month before he lost the WWE Championship to Hollywood Hogan at the Backlash pay-per-view extravaganza.
