WrestleMania I - Hulk Hogan & Mr. T def. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff
Due to the brash nature of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and his underhanded tactics, incorporating "Cowboy" Bob Orton & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff into his dirty deeds, a legendary main event at the first-ever WrestleMania was born. Accompanied by Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, WWE Champion Hulk Hogan & Mr. T set out to right the wrongs committed by "The Rowdy One" and his posse. Much to the dismay of the WWE Universe, it seemed as if "Mr. Wonderful" had secured the "W" for his tandem, but thanks to a miscommunication with Piper, good prevailed over evil with "The Immortal One" pinning Orndorff and claiming victory for his team.

WrestleMania II - King Kong Bundy def. Hulk Hogan in a Steel Cage Match
With bad blood most certainly boiling between WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and the vicious King Kong Bundy, the WrestleMania II main event pitting the two men against each other within a Steel Cage was sure to be a memorable one. Just one month earlier, while Hogan defended his title against Don Muraco, Bundy interfered, breaking the champion's ribs in the process. With revenge in mind, the match was set with "The Immortal One" defending his title within a steel cage. Despite fighting valiantly and giving it all he had, however, Hogan's injured ribs proved to be too much, and it was King Kong Bundy who left WrestleMania II as the WWE Champion - in the process putting an end to "Hulkamania" once and for all.

WrestleMania III - Andre The Giant def. King Kong Bundy
Becoming one of the most dominant champions in history, King Kong Bundy held the WWE Championship for an entire year, defending it on several occasions with no man seemingly able to stop this chunky champion. That is, until Bobby "The Brain" Heenan stepped forward with Andre the Giant towering behind him. In a classic confrontation that was dubbed "The Immovable Object vs. The Immovable Object," the two colossal Superstars collided with such force that it almost sent the Earth off its axis. In the end, though, it was Andre who came out on top, slamming down Bundy's reign as WWE Champion.

WrestleMania IV - Andre The Giant def. Kamala (with Ted DiBiase)
After winning the WWE Championship and leaving Bobby "The Brain" Heenan to go off on his own, Andre the Giant had become a champion that the WWE Universe loved. However, the gold around his waist had caught the eye of "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. After the beloved Giant refused to be bought, DiBiase resorted to desperate measures to obtain the squared circle's most coveted prize. As WrestleMania IV drew near, Andre found himself facing the biggest threat to his reign as DiBiase brought in Kamala, The Ugandan Giant. However, the bigger giant turned out to be Andre, as he subdued DiBiase's beast and walked out of Atlantic City, N.J., with the title still resting comfortably on his shoulder.

WrestleMania V - Ted DiBiase def. Andre The Giant
Seemingly ever in pursuit of Andre the Giant's title, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase had done almost everything in his power to topple the golden colossus, but to no avail. Finally, with WWE President Jack Tunney fed up by DiBiase's constant pursuit, he forced "The Million Dollar Man" to go one-on-one against the Giant with the stipulation that if he lost, he would never get a championship opportunity of any kind ever again. However, what happened in the WrestleMania V main event wasn't what Tunney had in mind. Less than a minute into the match, DiBiase was standing tall with the title; Andre had made a deal with the devil, allowing "The Million Dollar Man" to pin him and become the new WWE Champion.

WrestleMania VI - Jake Roberts def. Andre The Giant (with Ted DiBiase)
After Andre the Giant joined forces with "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and betrayed the WWE Universe, it seemed as though no one would be able to stop this devious pairing. Yet just when all seemed to be lost, an unlikely hero stepped to the foreground in the form of Jake "The Snake" Roberts. With Roberts winning the Royal Rumble, the countdown clock officially began with the WWE Universe rallying behind "The Snake." With a last- minute change leaving Andre defending DiBiase's title for him, things seemed to go precisely as "The Million Dollar Man" had hoped. What DiBiase didn't count on, however, was Andre's enormous fear of Jake's pet snake Damien. which evened the odds just enough for Roberts to pick up the win and walk out with the WWE Title.

WrestleMania VII - The Ultimate Warrior def. The Iron Sheik
Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, Jake "The Snake" Roberts' reign as champion didn't last long, as he lost to The Iron Sheik at SummerSlam while suffering an injury that kept him from invoking his rematch clause. WWE would be governed by an iron fist until WrestleMania VII, when The Iron Sheik came face-to-face with that year's Royal Rumble winner, The Ultimate Warrior. Both Superstars fought with everything they had, but the "U.S.A." chants in Los Angeles inspired Warrior enough to pull out the victory, bringing the title back to American soil.

WrestleMania VIII - Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji) def. The Ultimate Warrior
Faced once again with deterring foreign opposition, The Ultimate Warrior came face-to-face with the biggest opponent he had ever entered battle with: Yokozuna. Warrior fought against Yokozuna with all his incredible might, but the sumo Superstar's under-handed manager, Mr. Fuji, had one trick up his sleeve that Warrior didn't see coming. Just as Warrior looked to have the match won, Fuji threw white powder in his eyes, blinding him. This enabled Yokozuna to use his incredible size to pick up the victory and devastate the WWE Universe, who watched the gold go to the Land of the Rising Sun.

WrestleMania IX - Ric Flair def. Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji)
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair is one of the most decorated champions of the squared circle for a reason, and Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji found that out first-hand. Once it was decided that "Naitch" would be in the main event of WrestleMania IX against the massive Yokozuna, Fuji thought it would be a walk in the park. Things turned out to be quite different, though, and after the devious manager from the Land of the Rising Sun's attempts to regain the advantage backfired, Flair locked the in the Figure-Four Leglock in the center of the ring, leaving Yokozuna no choice but to submit.

WrestleMania X - Bret Hart def. Ric Flair and Yokozuna
President Jack Tunney had stepped down just a few months earlier and newly appointed president Gorilla Monsoon had a hard decision set in front of him following the '94 Royal Rumble. Unsure what to do following an indecisive finish that saw both Bret Hart and Yokozuna's feet touch the outside floor at the same time, WrestleMania's main event was decided to be a Triple Threat Match for Ric Flair's WWE Championship. Unfortunately for both Flair and Yokozuna, neither Superstar was fated to relive or rewrite history from their WrestleMania IX main event; the "Hit Man" took aim and secured the gold for himself by pinning the champion in the center of the ring.

WrestleMania XI - Bam Bam Bigelow def. Bret Hart
After an up and down year with Bret Hart losing and winning back the title, it was Bam Bam Bigelow that was going to put him to the test at WrestleMania XI. With a venue in between both Canada and Asbury Park, N.J., the Hartford Civic Center in Connecticut wasn't an even playing ground. Following a brutal back-and-forth match-up, it looked as if Bam Bam was as good as done, locked in the Sharpshooter in the center of the ring. That turned out not to be the case, though, as The Beast from the East somehow crawled to the ropes and just moments later hit an incapacitated Hart with a flying headbutt to seal the deal.

WrestleMania XII - Undertaker (with Paul Bearer) Def. Bam Bam Bigelow
Bam Bam Bigelow proved to be one of the most dominant champions since Andre the Giant. Unfortunately for him, though, Undertaker had earned the opportunity to face him at WrestleMania XII. The Phenom had been undefeated at WrestleMania thus far, with an impressive 4-0 record, and The Beast from the East was determined to end that streak. It was all for naught as the distraction from Paul Bearer allowed Undertaker to claim victory and bring the WWE Championship to the dark side.

WrestleMania 13 - Shawn Michaels def. Undertaker
WrestleMania XIV- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin def. Shawn Michaels
The cockiness of Shawn Michaels seemed to grow exponentially after both ending Undertaker's WrestleMania streak and winning the WWE Championship one year earlier, and The Heartbreak Kid ensured that the entire WWE Universe knew how great he was. It was at WrestleMania XIV that HBK got a big taste of humility, as he may be Mr. WrestleMania, but that night, a legend was born. After winning the Royal Rumble, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin entered Boston on fire and won his first-ever WWE Championship after serving up The Showstopper with a show-stopping Stone Cold Stunner.
