SmackDown 5/11/07 - Cashing in
After defeating Mr. Kennedy for the Money in the Bank briefcase, many wondered when the Ultimate Opportunist would strike WWE Champion John Cena. Instead, Edge shocked the world by showing up on SmackDown, just moments after Undertaker had retained his title in a brutal Steel Cage Match with Batista and an instant after Mark Henry laid waste to Undertaker, leaving him easy prey for Edge.
The Rated-R Superstar delivered two spears and then pinned The Phenom to become World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his career.

Survivor Series 2007 - Crashing the party
As Undertaker battled Batista inside the sadistic Hell in a Cell for the gold – Edge once again stirred things up when he attacked The Phenom. Dressed as a cameraman, the Rated-R Superstar dismantled Undertaker, giving The Animal the victory and denying The Deadman his sixth World Championship, all while robbing our fans of another classic showdown between Batista and Undertaker. The real victory was a moral one for Edge, who once again screwed The Phenom out of the title, hitting him with a video camera and a thunderous steel chair to the head, and setting the wheels in motion for his championship plans with SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero.
Armageddon 2007 - Triple Threatened
Batista defended the title in a Triple Threat Match at Armageddon 2007 against both Undertaker and Edge, with the Ultimate Opportunist winning back his title on the December night in Pittsburgh. Ironically, it was the Steel City that saw Edge cash in Money in the Bank to claim the gold seven months earlier.
Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder helped Edge carry out a perfect plan, and the “three-meditated” attack resulted in the “master manipulator” pinning The Animal to reclaim the gold – ushering in the Rated-R Era on SmackDown once more.
SmackDown 3/7/08 - Three's company
By order of SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, who happens to be Edge’s fiancée, the World Heavyweight Champion teamed with Hawkins & Ryder to face Undertaker in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match on SmackDown. While Edge spent most of the match outside the ring avoiding tags from Hawkins & Ryder, Undertaker destroyed the champions “minions,” hoping to get his hands on Edge.
The Ultimate Opportunist capitalized when it mattered, spearing The Phenom and picking up some much-needed momentum before WrestleMania XXIV.
