If the N.Y./N.J. area seems like a natural fit for WrestleMania, the history of WWE's marquee event likely plays a pivotal role.

This year's edition of The Showcase of the Immortals will be the fifth to take place in the New York region, but the highly anticipated pay-per-view taking place on April 7 will look and feel a lot different than the editions of years past. A lot has changed since the opening bell rang at the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985, from the history being made on The Grandest Stage of Them All to the cultural impact of the most important night in sports-entertainment.
