Jey now! Uso brother wins THQ's "WWE All Star" Superstar challenge
ATLANTA - After winning the first round of the THQ Superstar Challenge at WrestleMania Axxess by defeating his brother Jimmy, ring announcer Justin Roberts announced that “one of the Usos” had won and qualified for the quarterfinals.
Three rounds later, everyone knew Jey Uso’s name, as he swept his way past fellow Superstars, Divas and Legends in “WWE All Stars” competition to take home the prestigious crystal trophy.
Jey’s road to victory was aided by a huge upset. Defending Challenge champion JTG was eliminated by “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters in the opening round.
“As soon as (JTG) got knocked out, I knew I was about to take it home,” Jey said.
Also shocking was WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter advancing to the final match. Sarge defeated fellow Hall of Famers “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, then beat United States Champion Sheamus in a close semifinal battle that left The Celtic Warrior red in the face, stomping from the ring in anger upon losing.
“I know Sarge don’t play no video games... but he put up a good run though,” Jey said.
