WrestleMania XIX event venue: Safeco Field
Ken Griffey, Jr., helped officially break ground for Safeco Field in March 1997.
Safeco Field's inaugural game hosted 47,000 fans. In the game, the San Diego Padres defeated the Seattle Mariners 3-2.
Safeco Field also hosted the 2001 All-Star Game. Cal Ripken was named the MVP in his final all-star game appearance after he hit a third-inning home run.
Naming rights for the ballpark sold for $40 million to Safeco Corporation.
Its retractable roof covers the ballpark without enclosing it. Additionally, it opens and closes in an average of 10-20 minutes, depending on weather.
The roof on Safeco Field covers nine acres and weighs 22 million pounds.
