Hartford Civic Center - Hartford, Conn.
The Hartford Civic Center opened in January 1975.
It is the current home to the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolf Pack (the New York Rangers' minor league affiliate) and the home away from home for the University of Connecticut Huskies men and women basketball programs.
The Civic Center once was the home of the New England Sea Wolves of the Arena Football League.
The Hartford Civic Center was the home of the NHL's Hartford Whalers up until 1997.
The Civic Center has presented over 550 concerts by more than 250 different performers, including The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Grateful Dead, Luciano Pavarotti, Billy Joel, Elton John, U2, Eric Clapton, Janet Jackson, Andrea Bocelli and Rod Stewart.
It has also hosted the NHL Entry Draft and All Star Game, World Figure Skating Championships, NBA basketball, Championship Boxing, the NCAA Tournament and the 1996 Presidential Debate.
The Civic Center has been the host for two of the most memorable and significant events in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment. It was at the home for WrestleMania XI in 1995 where NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in the main event. Five years later, the curtain fell on a great career when Triple H defeated Cactus Jack in a Hell in a Cell Match at No Way Out.
