Droz' Survivor Series predictions

Droz' Survivor Series predictions

Hey everyone, I hope things are going well for you on the home front. My picks for Cyber Sunday were pretty close, but hopefully this time I'll do a little better.

By the way, I had a great time when I went to see the boys in Philly for the Raw show a few weeks ago. It seems that every time I see them, there are fewer and fewer faces that were around when I was still wrestling. I guess it shouldn't be that shocking; it has been eight years since I got hurt. The good thing, though, is that these "youngsters" are tearing it up in the ring and are very friendly outside of it. I've talked with many of the newcomers and it's great to see how they are coming along in the business.

Well, let's get to the picks and see how it goes.

Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels (WWE Championship Match)
With the stipulations involved in the match -- no Sweet Chin Music for HBK and Orton loses the title if he gets disqualified -- it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Michaels has been around for many years, and I'm sure his bag of tricks isn't limited to finishing his opponents off with Sweet Chin Music. As for Orton, it will just take a little more willpower on his part to not get disqualified. This one is going to be interesting simply because of the hatred that has brewed between these two for so long. I'd love to see HBK walk out as champion, but I don't see it happening on this night.

Batista vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match for the World Heavyweight Title)
Batista vs. Undertaker is a great match as it is, but add in Hell in a Cell, and you've got something that could be a Match of the Year candidate. These two "big boys" are going to go out there and simply destroy each other, giving us fans something to cheer about. Undertaker was originally going to be my pick, but I feel Batista has his stars aligned a little better and he's not quite ready to have the title leave his waist.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match
Good vs. evil is the name of the game here. With all these big names in one match, it will be great to see the almost controlled chaos. I'd love to see a back and forth match so the teams stay pretty even, but I have a feeling that Umaga's team may have a slight advantage here. In the end though, I see Triple H ending up as the final man on his side and defeating whoever is left on Team Umaga to come out on top.

Triple Threat Match for the ECW Championship
The Miz vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison is a match that I think Punk has been looking for. Still, within the rules, he can lose the title if either opponent beats the other; he doesn't have to be involved in the decision. With all that has been going on among these three men, it's about time that they will all be together inside the ring and no one has to worry about outside distractions. Punk is going to have to be at the top of his game in order to pull this one out, but I think he will do just that.

Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali
Wow! I really don't know what to say here. I'd love to see the little guy pin Khali's foot, but considering his feet are probably bigger than Hornswoggle, it could be tough. I still see Hornswoggle coming away with the win. Don't ask why.

10 Divas Tag Team Match
Well let's just put it this way: We are going to have 10 beautiful and talented women beating the crap out of each other. From my seat, that seems like a pretty great thing. Beth Phoenix is an animal compared to these other women, and she will probably end up on top. Now that's a great match!

Cade & Murdoch vs. Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes
Rhodes and Holly won a Triple Threat Match on WWE.com to gain their chance to face Cade & Murdoch for the World Tag Team Championship, and I don't think they will waste it. Cade & Murdoch have been great champs, and I really enjoy their work in the ring, but Holly & Rhodes are a very formidable team. Hardcore is as tough as they come, and Cody has that great fire that you love to see in a young wrestler. On that note, I think we will see the title change hands, and Holly & Rhodes will run with that ball for a long time.

Well, I hope everyone enjoys Survivor Series and has a great weekend. Once again, if you could, please keep our troops and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Till next time…
Droz -- Peace
