The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn Hills, MI

The Palace of Auburn Hills is the home to the Detroit Pistons of the NBA and the Detroit Shock of the WNBA, but it was also home to SummerSlam in 1993. It was there where the Lex Express finally completed journey across the country. Lex Luger had slammed the mammoth Yokozuna on the U.S.S. Intrepid on the Fourth of July, helping him land a title shot against the WWE Champion at SummerSlam. In the weeks leading up to the event, Luger rode all around the country in his bus called the Lex Express, rallying support for his match.

The Palace at Auburn Hills, which was built in 1988, has been voted Arena of the Year eight times by Performance Magazine and twice by Pollstar Magazine and is listed annually among North America's top-grossing arenas. The Palace, which usually hosts about 175 events a year, has been host to such world-famous acts as U2, Paul McCartney and Pavarotti.
