Tonight on SmackDown, his majesty King Booker will make his first defense of the World Heavyweight Championship he won less than a week ago at The Great American Bash. The challenger will be the same man he defeated for the gold, Rey Mysterio.  WWE.com caught up with both Superstars to get their take on the huge return match.

A jubilant King Booker was more than happy to share his thoughts on the impending showdown.

"Friday night, I will solidify my greatness," said the confident World Heavyweight Champion. "I take nothing away from Rey Mysterio. He is the true underdog of underdogs, and he deserves a rematch. It will be hand-to-hand combat, the King against the gladiator, and the outcome will be exactly the same as it was at the Bash."

Meanwhile, a noticeably shaken, yet focused Mysterio seems ready to forget what happened at the Bash and turn his attention towards recapturing the Championship that he so proudly and happily wore around his waist since WrestleMania 22.

"The Great American Bash is over. I have put it behind me now, and my focus is 100% on regaining what is mine," says the determined challenger. "I feel like something is missing. Something that is mine is no longer there and all I want to do is get it back. There was no justice in what happened, and I don't want to feel like this anymore."

It's not hard to figure out what Mysterio is referring to when he speaks of the injustice that occurred at The Great American Bash. Rey's close friend Chavo Guerrero interfered in the Championship match and brutally assaulted Mysterio with a steel chair, creating the opening for King Booker to make the cover and secure the gold. When questioned about Chavo's interference, Rey declined to comment, instead returning the focus towards tonight's match.

"I have nothing to say about that at this time," said Mysterio. "Right now, my thoughts are on regaining what's mine, the World Heavyweight Championship. That's what I want, and that's what's going to happen."

King Booker on the other hand, was willing to comment about Chavo's involvement, but was unwilling to admit that his interference was the difference in the match.

"Yes, it was bad timing for Chavo to perform his dastardly deed," said the King. "It was the shot heard ‘round the world. But, I had nothing to do with that. I did what I had to do, which was pin Rey and become World Heavyweight Champion. On Friday night, I will do the same thing, and I will continue to reign as the benevolent Champion, King Booker."

Chavo himself will be on SmackDown tonight to give an exclusive interview regarding his actions at the Great American Bash.

Can King Booker successfully defend his new gold? Can Mysterio re-capture the Championship that he so deeply craves? What will Chavo have to say for himself? Tune in to SmackDown at 8/7 CT on UPN to find out.
