Friday night on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio will make a special appearance in his hometown of San Diego in front of a sold out IpayOne Center crowd. The 619 has been abuzz over the prospects of Rey's appearance as this will be his first time in a SmackDown arena since the devastating career-threatening injury he suffered at the hands of Chavo Guerrero several months ago. On Friday night, Rey will update the fans on his condition, and his recovery.

The WWE fans aren't the only ones excited for Rey's appearance this Friday. The SmackDown roster is looking forward to having the former World Champion back in the locker room as well. Matt Hardy is just one Superstar who can't wait to have the high-flyer back in the ring.  

"It's going to be great to see him again," said Matt. "Thank god he's doing well with his recovery. I can't wait to watch him get back in that ring. He's one of my favorite performers of all time, both to watch and to compete against."

Mysterio's close friend and former tag team partner Batista is also looking forward to seeing Rey on Friday night.

"Rey's a good friend of mine," said the World Heavyweight Champion. "SmackDown will be even more exciting when he gets back in the ring."
