WWE.com has learned that SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero will return this Friday night and be back from her Royal Rumble injury with a venomous vengeance, as she will reportedly demand an apology from Rey Mysterio.
Rumors abound in the blue-hued brand's locker room indicate that Vickie is still in severe pain from the 619 she received at Madison Square Garden. The agony, in fact, is so great that several sources are questioning her current state of mind.
Word is that the General Manager -- possibly enveloped by depression and hostility --could bar Mysterio from competing at No Way Out all together, maybe even suspend or fire the masked Superstar.
Mysterio, however, might not be the only individual to be affected by Vickie's wrath this coming Friday night. Theodore Long found himself once again wielding power last week and the former GM inked a pair of huge contests for No Way Out: World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Rey Mysterio in a Rumble rematch, plus an additional Elimination Chamber Match to determine who will meet the champion at WrestleMania XXIV.
Both of these high-stakes battles directly affect Vickie's lover, the Rated-R Superstar. Just as Edge expressed on Friday, the returning Vickie could very well also take exception to Long's announcements. But, before the "Guerrero family" can plan any reprisal for what went down on SmackDown in Vickie's absence, it's important to keep in mind that it was WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon whose decree put Long in charge.
Does Vickie possess the power to challenge Long's match-making authority? If she really is in a distressed state of mind, would the GM go as far as to defy the ruling of the WWE Chairman, all in the name of love?
Last week, the Ultimate Opportunist all but pleaded to be granted such an opportunity to compete against any other Superstar other than the Master of the 619. Will Vickie -- and more importantly, can she -- possibly alter the World Heavyweight Title picture at No Way Out? If so, who would Edge defend the gold against? Would he take on The Great Khali, Big Daddy V or even The Phenom?
Be sure to catch a critical edition of SmackDown that just might display exactly how much clout Vickie Guerrero truly wields as General Manager. How will No Way Out be affected? What repercussions await Mysterio, Long and the rest of SmackDown this week? Tune in Friday night at 8/7 CT, only on The CW Network, to find out.
