Oct. 12 was a rough night for announcer and backstage interviewer Matt Striker. After Kane defeated Dolph Ziggler by disqualification, Striker tried to interview The Big Red Monster and his fellow WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan. When he alluded to their constant bickering and asked if Daniel Bryan was the "weak link" of Team Hell No, Striker quickly found himself on the business end not only of Bryan’s excruciating “No!” Lock, but then a colossal chokeslam from Kane. After SmackDown, Striker spoke to WWE.com about the attack, his current condition and what his next move might be. (WATCH STRIKER'S TOUT)

“I am having trouble turning my head to the right, and there are pins and needles running down my left arm,” Striker revealed after SmackDown went off the air. But the former Superstar isn’t wallowing in self-pity, “I was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz to take my lumps and never complain. WWE Superstars are the toughest men and women on the planet.”

Unlike announcer Josh Mathews, who was also manhandled by Kane and referee Chad Patton, who was Brogue Kicked by World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in June, Striker is a former in-ring competitor. He may not choose legal recourse or the involvement of WWE’s Board of Directors for vindication. When asked what his response might be, Striker said, “I will handle this the way a professional would. I can forgive but the fighter in me won't forget.”

While it’s unclear if Striker would pursue a personal vendetta or legal action, it is clear that he’s appreciative of the outpouring of support he received from WWE fans on social media, “Thanks to the WWE Universe and the ‘Striker Likers’ for all the tweets. I’d love some more Touts, seeing your faces makes me smile.”

Even as Striker recovers from Kane and Bryan’s attack, he acknowledges it’s not necessarily an isolated incident, “This isn’t the first time my mouth has gotten me into trouble, and it probably won't be the last.”
