SmackDown Five-Point Preview: June 22, 2012

Has Ziggler learned how to beat Sheamus?

Last Sunday at No Way Out, Dolph Ziggler challenged World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, coming extremely close to capturing the illustrious title. And though he now has three straight loses to The Great White, number four could very well prove to be The Showoff’s lucky number.

Ziggler is, above all else, one of the smartest competitors in WWE. Sure, his motivations are completely self-serving, but that’s the point here. Someone once said, the best way to get to know a Superstar is the face him in the ring. Well, Dolph has taken close note of Sheamus at every pass, and the determined grappler may finally have the perfect plan to triumph over The Great White.

With Vickie Guerrero firmly in his corner after his victory Monday night over Jack Swagger, Ziggler looks to make a huge statement on SmackDown by dropping the Irish Champion – easier said than done. Standing across the ring from him will be perhaps WWE’s hottest Superstar. Sheamus has done so in the past, but for how long can The Great White hold off such a determined tour-de-force?

What can SmackDown expect from Mick Foley?

Mick Foley assesses his performance as Interim Raw GM

Mick Foley comments on his experience as Interim Raw GM and witnessing John Laurinaitis' last day.

It’s safe to say that the last time Mick Foley had influence over SmackDown there were lots of surprises in store for the WWE Universe — Santa Claus, for one. When Foley guest-hosted a LIVE SmackDown Holiday Special in 2011, The Hardcore Legend did so donning the big guy’s red suit and, by the end of the night, Hornswoggle had won an “All I Want for Christmas Battle Royal,” earning the ability to speak.

It's clear that absolutely anything can happen when Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy grabs the reins of the blue brand. So, what will the Interim General Manager have in store for the WWE Universe? Whatever it is, fans are sure to, "Have a nice day!"

How off the wall can AJ get?

SmackDown Five-Point Preview: June 22, 2012

One consistent question seems to be on the collective lips of the WWE Universe these days, "What will AJ do next?" After prancing around Raw SuperShow donning The Big Red Monster Kane’s mask and in-ring gear and ostensibly costing Kane & Daniel Bryan their tag team match against CM Punk & Sheamus on Raw SuperShow, could the unstable Diva be looking to take things to yet another level Friday night on SmackDown?

This begs the bigger question — just how unstable can one girl be? And to whom will AJ’s particular brand of instability be directed?

Will Bryan give the "Devil" his due?

CM Punk & Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan & Kane: Raw, June 18, 2012

WWE Champion CM Punk & World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus join forces to face the team of Daniel Bryan & Kane.

After ditching his tag team partner on Raw SuperShow, Kane will battle Daniel Bryan Friday night on SmackDown.

With AJ doing her best to burrow her way inside the head of The Devil’s Favorite Demon, Kane has been prone to distraction lately. But on Monday night, The Big Red Monster may have left the wrong Superstar hanging.

Kane’s departure led to an unpleasant series of events for Bryan, who was left to fend off WWE Champion CM Punk and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus all alone. It didn’t turn out well for WWE's "Yes!" man, who suffered a Go to Sleep from The Straight Edge Superstar before The Great White nailed him with a devastating Brogue Kick.

Now that the always dangerous Bryan has his first one-on-one encounter with the monster since their No Way Out Triple Threat Showdown with The Second Saint, will the former World Heavyweight Champion give The Devil's Favorite Demon's his comeuppance? Or will The Big Red Monster continue to terrorize Bryan?

Does The Funkasaurus have a giant target on his back?

Brodus Clay vs. Big Show: Raw, May 28, 2012

Big Show unleashes his brutal side on Brodus Clay and WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth.

It’s not a stretch to say that Big Show is still one angry, disgruntled giant. And after the events of No Way Out Sunday, The World’s Largest Athlete has a brand new beef with a whole lot of Superstars.

Among them is SmackDown exclusive Superstar Brodus Clay, who after helping John Cena on Sunday may very well have a giant target painted squarely on his broad back. Will Big Show come to SmackDown with a score to settle against The Funkasaurus? And if so, can Brodus continue his winning ways inside the ring? Or is The Funkasaurus in danger of becoming an extinct species?
