Mike Mizanin's Royal Rumble predictions
WWE.com columnist and reality TV standout Mike "The Miz" Mizanin was happy to provide a reality check when it comes to this year's Royal Rumble matches:
Mickie James vs. Ashley with Trish Stratus as the special guest referee
The Miz pick: Ashley
Now, I feel like Mickie has been getting on Trish's nerves, here. Call me crazy, but I think she's getting on everyone's nerves lately. I'm a reality TV person, so I have to go with reality person in RAW Diva Search winner Ashley.
JBL vs. Boogeyman
The Miz pick: The Boogeyman
The Boogeyman is a mystery to me. You never know when he's going to pop up or what's going to happen. He's bitten off Jillian's mole; he eats worms. Any guy who eats worms, I'm kinda afraid of. So, I'm going to go with The Boogeyman.
John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Championship
The Miz pick: Edge
I've been going back and forth on this one. John Cena was WWE Champion for almost a year. Then, all of a sudden, Edge uses his "money in the bank" and screws him. So, I'm curious to see what will happen in this one. But I have to say, after Edge's TLC Match on RAW, I think he can beat anyone. I can't believe he survived that spill he took off the ladder and through the announce table … and still went on to beat Ric Flair. As much as I really want to go for Cena, I just think Edge is on a roll right now and is going to just keep going and pick up an "R-Rated Superstar" kind of win.
Kurt Angle vs. Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship
The Miz pick: Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle has been on a tear. He's been so intense and totally dominant. I think the switch to SmackDown was amazing for him, and I think he's going to keep the World Heavyweight Championship and defeat "The World's Strongest Man."
The Royal Rumble
The Miz pick: Triple H
I always see Triple H in the WrestleMania main event, so I'm going to go with him. The Cerebral Assassin always has something up his sleeve; he always has something going on. So, I think he's going to take it this year.
