Slim Jim exclusive presenting sponsor of WWE Tribute to the Troops

STAMFORD, Conn. -- World Wrestling Entertainment and Slim Jim are joining forces to honor our troops this holiday season. One of the most requested snacks by our troops overseas, Slim Jim, will be the exclusive presenting sponsor of WWE's annual holiday NBC special, WWE Tribute to the Troops.

As part of the sponsorship, Slim Jim will donate product to the armed forces through the USO and is asking consumers to join their effort. For every two Slim Jims purchased, the company will donate an additional Slim Jim to the USO with a maximum donation of $500,000 worth of product. Additionally, WWE and Slim Jim have launched a co-branded letter writing campaign inviting people to send messages of thanks to our troops through www.wwetributetothetroops.com.

In the spirit of Bob Hope, WWE Tribute to the Troops will chronicle WWE Superstars and Divas visiting Fort Hood, Texas, to meet with the troops and their families this holiday season, culminating with special live in-ring performances in front of thousands of military personnel. The star-studded holiday event will also feature musical performances by Sean Combs' Diddy-Dirty Money and Trace Adkins. Modern Family's Ariel Winter will sing the national anthem and Cedric the Entertainer will bring his award-winning brand of comedy to the special. The telecast will also star The View's Sherri Shepherd spreading holiday cheer and Miss USA, Rima Fakih, who will announce WWE matches featuring such WWE Superstars as John Cena, Randy Orton, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Big Show and others.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that WWE will bring its one-of-a-kind entertainment to our service men and women to thank them for their commitment to the country and in recognition of their sacrifices. For the past several years, WWE has visited forward operating bases and hospitals in Iraq. WWE Tribute to the Troops has become a holiday tradition and is considered TV's most patriotic and heartwarming show of the year.
