Hogan's next stop en route to the biggest party of the summer
Before running wild at SummerSlam, Hulkamania will make its epic return this Monday night as the Immortal Hulk Hogan comes to RAW for the first time since October. With Hogan's SummerSlam opponent, Randy Orton, making their confrontation the most personal the Hulkster has ever experienced, we may see Hulkamania run wilder than it ever has before.
Orton has not only brazenly challenged the legacy of the Hulkster, but he has also drawn Hogan's daughter, Brooke, into the equation. Leading up to Hulk's momentous return to Saturday Night's Main Event, Randy Orton publicly expressed his adoration for Brooke. At SNME, the Hulkster and Brooke (in her WWE debut) addressed the fans in attendance until a curiously well-mannered Orton came to the ring. Orton sweet-talked Hogan's smitten daughter and then handed her a single rose on behalf of all Hulkamaniacs, which Orton humbly admitted to being himself.
Orton's true interest soon became apparent as Orton respectfully requested a match with the Hulkster at SummerSlam, pitting the Legend-of-all-Legends against the Legend Killer. In appreciation of the reverential challenge, Hogan accepted, closing the deal with a handshake. Later, Orton spoke with Brooke in the parking lot area until her protective father interrupted and ended the conversation. Orton backed out of sight and Brooke got into Hogan's car. As the Hulkster made his way around the back of the car, Orton ran from out of nowhere, dropping the Legend with a vicious RKO on the trunk of the car.
Orton continued to make things personal last week on RAW as he explained that he sees potential between he and Brooke, provided Brooke could look past the RKO that Orton gave her father at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Every rare appearance that the Hulkster has made on RAW has been memorable. Hogan returned last summer to team with Shawn Michaels in a tag match, concluding with the Superkick to Hogan that led to one of the greatest matches in SummerSlam history: Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan. One year later, Hogan's appearance on Monday night could prove to be pivotal for both Hogan and SummerSlam.
Hogan has defended his legacy time and time again against the greatest names in sports entertainment history. Having defeated the likes of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Mick Foley, Orton has found much success in defying legacies much like Hogan's. But, by involving Brooke Hogan, has Orton foil spoiled his own destiny by making things so personal with the Hulkster? With his daughter Brooke involved, will we see a side of Hogan that we have never seen before? How will Hogan respond to Orton's attack, just weeks before he battles the Legend Killer one-on-one at SummerSlam?
Tune in to RAW this Monday live at 9/8 CT on the USA Network to find out.
