Benjamin & Y2J on the same page
WWE.com: Since taking on Chris Jericho at Backlash, it seems like the two of you guys have been able to put your differences aside.
Shelton Benjamin: For the most part I would say that Jericho and I have really patched things up so to speak. But around this place, you always have to keep an eye on everyone. But for now, things are cool between us.
WWE.com: Tonight during Y2J’s match with
Daivari, you came in and made the save. Was that your way of telling
Jericho that you have his back?
Benjamin: I’ve always had respect for Jericho and his ability. Y2J and I have managed to patch things up, and when you add that to the fact that I really hate Daivari and Muhammad Hassan and everything they stand for, it was like my call to arms. Tonight I was the cavalry. It later came back to bite me, but I would do it again if I had to because like I said, I’m a red-blooded American. And anytime somebody has a problem with the U.S., they have a problem with me.
WWE.com: Next Monday on RAW, you will be teaming with
Jericho to take on Hassan and Daivari. Tell us your thoughts on this
tag team match?
Benjamin: Hassan & Daivari have bitten off a lot more than they can chew. They are going to get their asses kicked next week on RAW. I’m the type of guy that loves to have fun, but when you choke me in front of a packed arena, somebody’s going to have to pay and Jericho and I are going to make Hassan and Daivari pay this Monday on RAW.
