Raw Recall for July 27, 2011
OUCH: INTERMITTENT REIGN "Daddy's coming home with the gold," Rey Mysterio told his kids after clinching the WWE Title for the first time ever. Sadly, it was not to be. After earning the title to kick off the night, Mysterio was congratulated by his peers, including John Cena, who may or may not have already known he'd be competing against Rey at the end of the night. During that bout, the masked man lost to The Champ. "I'm not exactly sure what the situation is between John Cena and CM Punk," said Rey, "but when I get my title rematch, I'll become WWE Champion again." (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PHOTOS) | SHOCK: THE SECOND COMING The Second City Savior left the WWE Universe slack-jawed - once again - when he interrupted John Cena's victory celebration. The Champ had defeated Rey Mysterio for the WWE Title when CM Punk emerged to thunderous applause with a WWE Title of his own. The confrontation, however, begged a few questions: Can there really be two WWE Title holders, or did Punk forfeit that right? Do you approve of Punk's actions? SAY WHAT?: THE EYES HAVE IT "See that, now you've made him mad. Look at his eyes." - Triple H,
to an imaginary friend regarding R-Truth's maniacal looking eyes. The
new WWE Chief Operating Officer was mocking the unbalanced Superstar,
who had confronted The Game with an imaginary posse. | TAKE THAT!: GAME OVER, COLE Everyone went hog wild when Triple H revealed that announcer Jim Ross was returning to Raw. Everyone, that is, except Michael Cole. The talking head threw a tantrum that peaked the ire of WWE's new Big Man on Canvas. As a result, Cole was forced to compete against Zack Ryder, who made him pay for being such a boil on the backside of WWE. | |
