Preview:Undertaker vs Edge TLC Match for World Heavyweight Championship
On SmackDown, General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced that the still-vacated World Heavyweight Championship would be decided in a Table, Ladders and Chairs Match between Edge and Undertaker at One Night Stand. Despite our fans’ emphatic disapproval, Vickie also threatened Undertaker’s future as a WWE Superstar.
“If Undertaker loses this match, this will be the last time you see him. Because if he loses his match, he will be banished from the entire WWE,” she declared.
At One Night Stand, the Ultimate Opportunist will continue on his path to obtain the gold, with the help of his influential fiancée. How will The Phenom fare in a contest Edge has built his career on? He has lost only one TLC Match at Unforgiven in 2006, but clearly he has the overwhelming advantage.
The title has been without a holder since Guerrero stripped Undertaker of the gold. The decision was prompted by The Deadman’s repeated use of an illegal choke hold – including against the GM’s fiancé Edge at WrestleMania XXIV and Backlash. Then, after defeating Edge at Judgment Day, she inhibited him from reclaiming the title, insisting that a count-out victory over Edge could not grant him the gold.
The Deadman has been known to use extreme force to take out whoever stands in his way. And with the prospect of being banished from WWE, it’s possible he may unleash more fury on Edge than our fans have ever witnessed.
After all that has happened between Undertaker and Edge over the past year, it is time for one of them to claim the “richest prize in the game” at One Night Stand. But until then, the question still lingers: Who will be the next World Heavyweight Champion?
