The CM Punk-Elijah Burke rivalry began when the Straightedge Superstar was caught in the middle of a bidding war between the New Breed and the ECW Originals. Both groups sought the up-and-coming star’s services as they tried to gain an advantage in the battle for ECW’s future.

Punk joined the New Breed only to betray them – and he has paid the price in weeks of beatings from their leader, Elijah Burke and their enforcer, The Alpha Male Marcus Cor Von. Now things have come full circle as Originals Tommy Dreamer and Sandman will team with Punk in a Six-Man Tag Team Tables Match against Burke, Cor Von, and their New Breed teammate Matt Striker.

In Punk, Dreamer and Sandman see a representative of the modern-day ECW who shares their old ECW ideals. Punk hopes these ECW Originals will enable him to put behind his trouble with Burke and the New Breed once and for all.

Burke and the New Breed hope to avenge the embarrassment Punk has caused them by sending his body careening through a table. And they have not forgotten about their months of battles with the Originals as both sides have claimed victory in that war.

Will the six-man showdown end with the New Breed standing over the splintered remains of Punk, Dreamer and Sandman? Or will three of ECW’s most beloved heroes from the past and present stand tall?
