As announced by Raw special guest host The Million Dollar Man, his son, Ted DiBiase, & Cody Rhodes will get another golden opportunity at Night of Champions as they were scheduled to face Edge & Chris Jericho for the Unified Tag Team Titles. But with the injury The Rated-R Superstar suffered to his Achilles tendon, this match and the champions' reign appeared in jeopardy.

That was, until Jericho unveiled his plans.

With Edge out for months, the arrogant Jericho informed the WWE Universe that he was always wary of his "injury-prone" partner and had a clause written into his contract allowing him to choose any partner he wishes as a replacement should Edge get hurt. Jericho promised to reveal his new tag team partner before the title match at Night of Champions and not a moment sooner, leaving his opponents little time to shift tactics.

The bad blood between the Jericho and Rhodes & DiBiase began when the two younger Legacy members earned a championship bout for The Bash against then-champions Carlito & Primo. Thanks to SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long feeling the pressure, however, he made a last minute change on pay-per-view – the addition of Edge & Jericho into the match.

Unfortunately, this new development ended up working against DiBiase & Rhodes as The Rated-R Superstar, always looking for opportunities to capitalize on, made a blind tag on Rhodes and caught an unaware Carlito off-guard with a vicious spear and the title-seizing pin.

Now that The Legacy – former World Tag Team Champions – has another opportunity to add more gold to Rhodes & DiBiase’s résumés, will they be able to defeat the team of Jericho and his selected partner, with the entire WWE roster at his disposal? The only way to find out is to watch Night of Champions, available only on pay-per-view.
