Gold & Stardust def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos

Gold & Stardust def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The interstellar journey of Gold & Stardust in search of the “cosmic key” has unlocked a galaxy of treasure for the unusual duo, as they defeated The Usos to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions.

Since revealing their dark side, The Bizarre One and his equally peculiar partner have had the upper hand on The Usos in recent weeks, even injuring Jey Uso’s knee with a vicious assault. The injury didn’t seem to be bothering Jey much at Night of Champions, as The Usos took control of the bout early. Though Gold & Stardust soon focused their attack on Jey’s knee, the champions remained resilient and fought back.

The bout spilled to the arena floor, where Jimmy took Stardust out  with a dive off the ringside barricade, only to then get caught by  a thunderous powerslam by Goldust. That turned the tide for the challengers, who isolated Jimmy Uso in their half of the ring. Though the WWE Universe and his brother were willing him on, Jimmy struggled to reach his corner.

Jimmy Uso finally mustered enough energy to avoid Stardust’s attack, sending him shoulder-first into the steel ring post and tagging his brother in. Jey sprang into action and  focused his attack on Stardust’s knee, even slamming the cosmic grappler’s leg into the steel ring post. The bout broke down into total chaos, with Goldust and Jimmy Uso taking out each other’s partners with a series of devastating dives. Back in the ring, Jey was looking to hit a top rope splash, only for Stardust to get his knees up at the last second! Stardust capitalized and rolled Jey up to secure the victory and the WWE Tag Team Championship!

Gold & Stardust believed that their victory was written in the stars. They were proven right at Night of Champions. Now that the titles are in their possession, what lengths will the bizarre champions go to in order to keep them?
